KhataNest

The short version: KhataNest is designed as a local-first offline ledger. Your business, customer, and ledger data is stored on your device. The app does not require an account, login, cloud sync, or backend service for normal use.

KhataNest helps you manage customer credit records. Depending on how you use the app, you may enter and store:
Your ledger data is stored locally on your device using an on-device database. KhataNest does not upload your ledger data to a KhataNest server and does not provide cloud synchronization or account-based recovery.
If you uninstall the app, lose your device, or clear app data, your local ledger may be lost unless you have exported and kept a backup.
KhataNest lets you export an encrypted backup file and import a compatible backup later. Backup files contain your ledger database, including business, customer, and transaction data.
Backups are protected with the password you choose for that export. KhataNest does not store or recover backup passwords. If you share or store a backup file outside the app, that location or service is controlled by you and may have its own privacy practices.
KhataNest can prepare payment reminder text and open your device's SMS app or WhatsApp for you to review and send. The app does not send messages directly and does not track whether a message was sent, delivered, or read.
When you choose to open another app, share a statement PDF, or share a backup file, the information you send is handled by the destination app or service you selected.
KhataNest may keep privacy-safe diagnostic logs on your device to help troubleshoot app behavior. These logs are designed to avoid customer names, mobile numbers, amounts, ledger history, backup contents, passwords, file paths, and raw sensitive error details.
If you manually export diagnostics from Settings and share them for support, those exported diagnostics are shared only because you chose to send them.
The Android release app does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS reading, or notification permissions. It may use platform file and sharing interfaces when you choose to import a backup, export a backup, share a PDF, or open SMS/WhatsApp handoff flows.
KhataNest does not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, account SDKs, or cloud database services in the current release.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your ledger data with advertisers, analytics providers, or cloud services. Data leaves the app only when you choose to export, import, share, print, open another app, or send information through a third-party app or service.
Ledger data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, clear app data, or replace it by importing a backup. Deleted businesses may be retained locally for a limited recovery period before permanent deletion, as shown in the app.
You can delete app data through the app's available delete flows or through your device settings. Backup files and shared PDFs saved outside the app must be deleted from wherever you stored or shared them.
KhataNest is intended for business ledger management and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information.
If KhataNest's behavior changes, such as adding accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or new permissions, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date will be revised.
